Two throwers compete at a time, axe-to-axe.

Each thrower gets five  throws per round.

Throwers score points for each axe that sticks the target.

High score wins round, best of three rounds wins match.


How much does it cost?

We charge $20/person/hour. Cages have two targets and hold up to eight people depending on how long your event is.

What is the minimum group size?

Two… we’d say “one,” but that’s not really a group. You must have a minimum of four in your group to book in advance.

What’s the max group sizes for events?

We can host up to 88 people for custom, indoor-only events. We can host larger groups for indoor/outdoor events.

What are the hours of operation?

Our hours are posted on our homepage, but we will open special hours for large groups.

How do I pay?

We take bookings through our website. You can pay cash or card at the venue after your session.

How far in advance do I need to book?

To be safe, it is best to book 1-2 weeks in advance for groups of 4-16, and more for larger groups. On the weekends 2-3 weeks in advance is recommended. However, we can often squeeze groups in with as little as one or two-days notice. Walk-ins and same-day bookings are welcome, but subject to availability.

How long is the whole experience?

We offer 1- 2 hour sessions depending on the size of your group and the number of people per cage. Custom events can be as long as needed.

Can I come with just a date?

Yes, on a walk-in basis. However, we STRONGLY recommend calling in advance to check our availability beforehand.

What kind of clothing do I need to wear?

Closed-toe shoes are required! The axes can bounce back towards your feet and we don’t want anyone getting injured. Aside from that, wearing something comfortable to move around in is best. We have heat and fans, but we recommend wearing cool clothes when it’s hot and warm clothes when it’s cold.

Do you all provide the equipment we need?

We supply the targets, the axes, and a coach. All you need is your enthusiasm to learn!

Is there an age limit?

Before 8 PM, we welcome participants as young as 13 when accompanied by a legal guardian. After 8 PM, all throwers must be 18 and over. For everyone's safety, kids under 13 are not permitted into our venues at any time and are likewise not permitted to throw. This includes infants and toddlers.

Can we take pictures or videos while we are there?

Please do. We completely encourage it! (Just not while actually throwing.)

Is there an Axe-throwing league?

Yup, each location has it's own league. Louisville League | Covington League

What are the rules of the game?

Games are played 1-on-1, each player gets 5 throws. Each throw is worth between 1-5 points based on accuracy. The highest score wins. Best of 3 games wins the match.

What should I do if I need to cancel my reservation?

We require a 48 hour cancellation notice in order to receive a full refund on your deposit. Email for Louisville cancelations, and for Covington cancelations.

Can we bring in food from outside?

We don’t sell food so you are welcome to bring outside snacks or food. We will have food trucks at special events.

Can we bring our own axes?

Currently, you cannot due to liability issues. We include the use of our axes in the cost of the event.

Do you all sell gift certificates?

Yes, they're available at the venue.

Do you all play music in the venue?

We do.

Will someone show us how to throw before we play?

Every event includes a coach that not only teaches you how to throw, but coaches you as you go along to improve your throwing skills.

Are outside spectators allowed to watch?

We allow spectators. As long as they meet the age requirements. They don't have to throw if they do not want to.

Is Axe-throwing safe?

No activity or sport is completely safe. However, injuries are uncommon, and our staff is trained to keep our guests and themselves safe, while still having a great time. We do insist that throwers wear closed-toe shoes, and do not throw intoxicated. You can drink beer, but if you get drunk, we’ll sit your axe down.
